A stunning 1.47ct Ethiopian Black Welo Opal set in a 9ct yellow gold marquise bezel, this ring has been designed around this beautiful stone. Entirely hand-made and set on a 9ct Red Gold band with a yellow gold band overlaid and a lightly burnished & aged finish. Truly one-of-a-kind, this carefully crafted and unique ring will set the wearer apart and become an heirloom to be cherished.
Please be aware that some soap, detergents and antibacterial sanitiser can react with metal and gemstones to cause discolouration.
Opals are particularly sensitive; humidity, sweat, water, heat and especially chemicals – these can all impact the colour of a natural opal. Ethiopan (also known as hydrophane) opals are porous and will soak up water very quickly. They can be particularly susceptible to colour change when exposed to extreme temperatures or chemicals. Therefore, wherever possible, to protect your jewellery, please remove prior to washing and always prior to using hand sanitisers.
Accidents do happen – but do not despair! Should your opal become discoloured, the chances are it will recover it’s natural beauty in time. However, if you have any queries or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us.
Tips for caring for opals
Ring sizers should be universal, however they can differ – they shouldn’t…but they can. To save delays and/or disappointment we prefer, wherever possible, to check your ring size using our own sizers. If time allows, please order a ring sizer which we will send out to you straight away with full instructions. Once we have your size we can go ahead and re-size or make your ring. If this is not feasible, for example, if the ring is a surprise gift for someone else, then we will need to proceed based on the information you supply. In these cases we cannot accept responsibility for any sizing issues, however we will be happy to re-size any ring after purchase although this may incur a small charge.
This ring is available for immediate despatch in size N (delivery in 1-3 days). For re-sizing add 2-3 days and for made-to-order please allow 1-3 weeks.
