Description
Beautiful 0.5ct brilliant-cut Moissanite set in a curved crossover band of 9ct yellow gold.
Originally discovered in 1893 by French scientist Henri Moissan in a meteorite crater in Arizona, he initially thought he had found diamonds, but later determined that the crystals were composed of silicon carbide. Â Natural moissanite is incredibly rare so the moissanites generally available today are lab-created. Â They are becoming increasingly popular as an alternative to mined diamonds, and with good reason.
- Measuring 9.25 on the Mohs Scale of Hardness, moissanites are almost as hard as diamonds, making them one of the hardest substances on earth, suitable for everyday wear
- They are environmentally friendly and totally ethical – no mining required with full traceability. Â Fine jewellery made with moissanite and recycled metal (all our gold is recycled) is a responsible choice
- They don’t conform to the norm
- Like diamonds, they are available in shades of blue, gold, pink and clear
- They’re far more affordable than diamonds, and
- They sparkle…really sparkle!
